Taran founded Cosmic Picture in 2004 and produced the award-winning IMAX® documentary film Journey to Mecca, and the award-winning giant screen movies Jerusalem (inducted into the IMAX Hall of Fame), Superpower Dogs, Heart of New England and Einstein’s Incredible Universe. He has written and directed several critically acclaimed documentary films, including Afghan Stories, Mountain Men, Holy Wars and Land Beyond the River.
Taran was a Board Member of the Giant Screen Cinema Association for several years and served as Co-Chair of the Industry Development Committee. He is a member of the Explorers Club. He studied filmmaking at Harvard (’93) and worked in finance and venture capital for several years in New York City.
